Candice is well known for being able to take social topics & influence people to speak openly about issues and empower themselves. Candice is on a mission to fiercely change the disempowering narrative around menstruation. Candice’s media presence has been established since 2015 with a core interest on Youth Politics, Gender issues and Human Rights. Candice has been featured on various notable media platforms such as Global Citizen, BBC, OkayAfrica, PowerFm, 702, Newzroom Afrika and others.

Academic and Professional Speaker

Candice is an academic in the field of Social Sciences where her expertises lies in Human Rights and Gender Studies (M.A. Wits). Her recent Masters Thesis was focused on Menstrual Health Management sparked by her previous consultancy with the United Nations Populations Fund. Candice has made it her life’s mission to use her academic skills to enrich and empower communities in South Africa and beyond. Through her passion, Candice has been invited to speak at events with organisations such as TedX, Nedbank, Charlotte Mannya-Maxeke Institute, Oprah Winfrey School, African Women in Dialogue and others.

Social Entrepreneur and Author

In 2018, Candice founded her award-winning Non-Profit Company, QRATE which serves communities in South Africa in providing #Eduliftment4Kids. Candice also is an author of the self-published Perils of Patriarchy book and her upcoming collaborative published book, Flow: The Book About Menstruation.
